April 15, 2017, 10:00 AM @ Pepperell Springs Conservation Area
Join the Conservation Commission and the Nashoba Conservation Trust on a Wildflower walk on Pepperell Springs Conservation Area with Ecologist Pat Rice. Meet at the intersection of Oak Hill and Chestnut Streets. Join Pat Rice, an ecologist on the Conservation Commission, and other wild flower enthusiasts for about an hour for a short wild flower walk at Pepperell Springs Conservation area. Meet at the intersection of Oak Hill and Chestnut streets. We won’t be walking very far, and it’s mostly flat, but it might be muddy. We’ll go through the woods to the base of the talus slope, and walk along Gulf Brook. Based on previous year flowering dates, we will are likely to see wood anemone, bloodroot, hepatica, dwarf ginseng, false hellebore (sprouting, probably not flowering), skunk cabbage, Canada mayflower, and others that may surprise us.
