Rules and Regulations Town of Pepperell's Conservation Land and Open Spaces Welcome! Pepperell's conservation lands are open to all for hiking, fishing, picnicking, nature study, boating/canoeing, jogging, camping, skating, sledding, biking, cross country skiing, horseback riding, and other pursuits that do not damage the land or impair other people's enjoyment. These are your lands. Please enjoy them and take care of them. 1. All people are welcome to enjoy themselves without charge in the conservation areas of the Town of Pepperell from one half hour before sunrise until one half hour after sunset. After hours use is permitted only the written permission of the Pepperell Conservation Commission. 2. No cars, trucks or other powered vehicles or tools except for municipal vehicles or tools are allowed unless authorized by written permission of the Pepperell Conservation Commission. 3. No person shall cut, break, remove, deface, defile or ill-use any structure, fence, sign or have possession of any part hereof. No dead or growing trees, bushes, plants, flowers or other matter living or non-living shall be defaced, cut or removed, nor shall trails be cut or marked, no dams built nor any structure such as lean-to, bridge, tower or handrail be constructed without written authorization of the Pepperell Conservation Commission. Wildlife shall not be harassed. 4. No person shall engage in business, sell or expose for sale, or give away any goods, wares or circulars unless written authorization is obtained from the Pepperell Conservation Commission. 5. Overnight camping may be permitted at the discretion of the Pepperell Conservation Commission to groups having an adult leader present at all times. Each group shall obtain a written permit from the Pepperell Conservation Commission. Open fires are allowed by written permit of the Pepperell Conservation Commission. 6. No alcoholic beverages. 7. All trash and litter generated by users must be removed from the premises. No trash receptacles will be provided by the Pepperell Conservation Commission or the Town of Pepperell. 8. Hunting will be allowed only on conservation lands designated as hunting lands in the 1990 Land Use Study with the exception of shotgun deer hunting which is not allowed. All areas are closed to shotgun deer hunting (vote of 3/23/92). Persons wishing to hunt on Conservation Lands are recommended to consult with the Conservation Commission. 9. VIOLATIONS HEREOF shall be punished by a fine of $25.00 for the first offense, $50.00 for the second offense, and $100.00 for the third or subsequent offenses. |
