Chief Toby Tyler has been a member of the Pepperell Fire Department since 1987. He served as Hook and Ladder Company Lieutenant for 8 years, then as Captain.

Tyler was appointed to the Board of Fire Engineers in 2003, and was elected Fire Chief on May 1st, 2007.

Chief Tyler has trained at the Massachusetts Fire Academy, both in technical firefighting, and incident command and control. He has also worked with the Massachusetts District Attorney‘s Juvenile Fire Setters Task Team since 1998.

In 2003, Chief Tyler became a Massachusetts certified EMT-Basic.
