Council on Aging

The Pepperell Council on Aging is dedicated to providing services and programs for the senior citizens in the Town of Pepperell that will promote independence, dignity, and well being. We achieve this mission by providing a gathering place for seniors to enjoy social, recreational, health and educational activities.

Target Residents
There are an estimated 12,000 residents and over 1,800 seniors in Pepperell. In 2011, we served approximately 1,200 residents, 80% of them 60 or over. While our programs are designed for people over 60, there is no age qualification to utilize them. We provide a monthly newsletter with up to date information. Over 1,300 are mailed to Pepperell seniors, 62 and older, and is available on our website.

The Council on Aging receives supplements to the monies provided by the town. Each year we receive grant money from the executive office of elder affairs (EOEA) to help fund a part time outreach coordinator. The Pepperell Cultural Council funds additional programs. We also receive support from the Friends of the Pepperell Seniors, a private nonprofit organization

Donations & Rentals
The Senior Center is also fortunate in receiving many donations. These include office furniture and supplies, food, computers, gift certificates, activity supplies, as well as cash donations.

Several nonprofit groups and other town departments continue to utilize the building after hours. The Senior Center has been designated as a temporary Emergency Shelter.
