Charter Review Committee

Purpose & Function:

The charge of this committee is to review the charter and to make a report, with recommendations, to the Town Meeting concerning any proposed amendments which said committee may determine to be necessary or desirable.

The initial review committee shall convene five (5) years after the adoption of this Charter and subsequently at least every ten (10) years thereafter.

Membership:

The nine (9) members shall be chosen as follows:

   One (1) member chosen by each of the following:
        a) School Committee
        b) Housing Authority
        c) Board of Library Trustees
        d) Town Moderator
        e) Council on Aging

   Two (2)  members chosen by each of the following:
        a) Board of Selectmen
        b) Finance Committee


Persons appointed by the said agencies may, nut need not, be members of the agency by which they are designated. All members appointed to this committee shall be registered voters in the Town of Pepperell. The committee shall meet to organize forthwith following the final adjournment of the annual town meeting. 

Priority shall be given to at least two (2) members of the original Charter Commission or the Charter Review Committee thereafter. Upon submission of said report and recommendations to the Town Meeting, this special committee shall be discharged.
