The Town of Pepperell is seeking an organized, self-motivated, dedicated professional for the position of Town Planner. Reporting to the Town Administrator the Town Planner works under the policy direction of the Planning Board, performing administrative, supervisory, technical work and all other work as required. Should possess knowledge of community planning, land use, site plan review, economic development, grant writing, document preparation, use of GIS functions a plus, scheduling and posting of meetings and public hearings. Candidate must have the ability to research federal and state laws, as well as, town by-laws for use in decision making. Should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local, regional, and state officials, the general public, employees, developers, and consultants; ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision; ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects; ability to be a problem solver; ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Candidate should possess strong oral and written communications skills and ability to use municipal computer software. Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning, public administration or related field with four years of planning experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
