With the amount of precipitation lately the Nashua and Nissitissit rivers have been unseasonably high. Pepperell Emergency Management has been monitoring the river reports issued by the National Weather Service and US Geological Survey who have a recording device on the Nashua. So far we have reached levels considered minor flooding, but not higher with current forecasts keeping it at this level. However, residents are warned that water currents will be strong and temperatures have not supported any significant freezing. Therefore, you are cautioned that conditions on our rivers are unsafe and you are advised to avoid them at this time.
