The center never fully closed as the facility remained staffed to answer calls, provide outreach services, online fitness classes and educational courses, meals on wheels, shopping, wellness calls, van services and even curbside pick-up of lunch from their fully functioning kitchen.

The center will continue many of those services virtually as well as face to face with limited capacity. Several new protocols are required for staff and participants to minimize the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

All who enter must be signed up for an activity or an appointment. If you are not signed up prior to coming to the center, the staff will not allow you to enter. This is to help with contact tracing and capacity limitations. Anyone entering the center must wear a mask and follow proper hand hygiene. To maintain social distancing, seating capacity is limited and may be arranged. Additional protocols are in place and will be communicated to all prior to entering and posted throughout the building.

“We realize the changes to the center may limit the number of participants in the center at one time, they are in place to provide a safer experience for everyone,” said COA Director Susan McCarthy, “We have missed all of our friends here at the center and are thrilled to be opening our doors to all of you soon!”, she added.

The center will be open to the public beginning August 3, 2020. The center’s hours will be 8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday in order to accommodate these new procedures.
