DPW Compliance Specialist – Full Time

The Town of Pepperell is seeking an energetic, outgoing and attentive person to support the operations and compliance activities of the Department of Public Works. Working under the direction of the DPW Director, this position plays a key role in the collection, analysis, and distribution of information regarding the regulatory compliance and operations of the Department.  The successful candidate will be able to obtain data from a variety of locations; review for compliance with regulations; provide reporting to EPA, MassDEP and other entities; and comfortably interact with the public. This position is forty hours per week.

Recommended qualifications are an Associate’s Degree in a scientific field; valid Class D Motor Vehicle Drivers’ License; familiarity with environmental processes and procedures; and thorough knowledge of computer and web-based applications.

Administrative Assessor – Full Time

The Town of Pepperell is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused Administrative Assessor to support the daily operations of the Assessing Department. Working under the direction of the Town Assessor, this position plays a key role in maintaining accurate property records, assisting residents and taxpayer, and ensuring the smooth administration of assessment-related functions.  The successful candidate will comfortably interact with the public, use independent judgement and have strong organizational skills with attention to detail. This position is forty hours per week.

Recommended Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field; one (1) year of related work experience, supplemented by training and experience in current principles of property assessment is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Special Requirements: valid Class D Motor Vehicle Drivers’ License. Must complete the DOR course 101 within one (1) year; Geographic Information System (GIS) knowledge and/or Notary Public a plus.

Public Safety Dispatcher

Type: Full Time

The Town of Pepperell is seeking qualified candidates for the position of 911 public safety dispatcher for the regional emergency communications center between the towns of Ashby and Pepperell. Duties include but not limited to, answering 911 calls and performing EMD as required, general call taking duties, dispatch via radio for Police, Fire, EMS, and local DPW agencies, detailed and accurate logging in CAD. Candidates must have good interpersonal and communications skills. 

Pay scale: $23.39-$31.52 per hour plus shift differential, depending on qualifications and experience, with pension and benefits under Middlesex County retirement. PER DIEM FIRE/EMS PARAMEDIC / AEMT / EMT

The Town of Pepperell is seeking qualified candidates for Per Diem Fire / EMS positions. Shifts available 10, 14 and 24 Hours, Days, Nights and weekends & Holidays. Duties to include but not limited to responding to fire and ambulance calls, providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured. Attends training as required. report writing, station duties apparatus checks.  HS education and two years’ experience in 911 transport EMS, possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license; certification as Paramedic or AEMT or EMT by the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services and Central Mass. EMS, certified Firefighter I/II; or any combination of education and experience that meets the requirement.   pay range is 

PARAMEDIC $24.90-$28.56 / AEMT $20.91 - $23.97/ EMT $19.38 - $22.44 DOQ and or experience

Final appointment will be contingent upon the results of a thorough background investigation, and entrance medical exam.

Pepperell is a picturesque small New England town situated in north central Massachusetts approximately 40 miles west of Boston and less than 10 miles south of Nashua, NH.  Population is 11,607, land area is 22.99 Sq. miles.  Pepperell Fire & EMS is a combination fire department running Advance Life Support (ALS) transport ambulance.  In 2021 responded to 1401 emergency calls from two stations.  The department is staffed by a full-time chief, six career members, per diem positions and a very active call force.

FULL COMMITTEE - The Climate Change Committee (CCC) seeks to fill ONE vacancy

The CCC recommends and pursues strategies, policies, and practices to achieve net-zero carbon emissions in Pepperell by 2050.  The CCC promotes the protection of biodiversity and the sustainable use of our working lands and natural resources. Additionally, the CCC educates the public on what each of us can do to live more sustainably. 

The CCC seeks individuals wishing to contribute to meeting Pepperell’s climate change mitigation and adaptation goals.  CCC members must be able to attend one committee meeting per month and spend 1-3 hours per week contributing to the committee’s work.  Such work may include independent research, writing and/or reviewing documents, creating and/or reviewing presentations, and meeting with residents, businesses, and town personnel.

The ideal candidate will have:

The Pepperell Historical Commission seeks to fill the following vacancy

The Commission meets approximately every month and has responsibility for the preservation, protection, and development of the town's historical assets and seeks to identify and promote the town's historical resources.  

The Commission is working on several important projects and initiatives including:

  • Preserving historic records, and recording historic elements in Pepperell
  • Identifying grants and programs such as the Community Preservation Act and advocating for community-wide support
  • Leveraging our historic assets for economic development
  • Contributing to Pepperell’s Wayfinding and Branding strategies
  • Preserving our rural heritage
  • Researching and sharing Pepperell’s early history and the town’s Revolutionary War past
  • Contributing to local by-laws to protect historic resources

Interested candidates should be:

  • Well organized and resourceful with the ability to work independently
  • Passionate about history and forwarding a vision for a preservation plan
  • An active participant on projects, working independently with town departments and boards and the historical community

PACH is Looking for Volunteers… Can you Help?

Pepperell Aid from Community to Home provides Pepperell and Dunstable residents in need with a caring compassionate resource to meet their basic needs including food, personal care items, and referrals to resources which provide additional assistance. Fuel Assistance is a resource available through PACH Outreach. PACH office, located at 66 Hollis Street is staffed by volunteers who will return calls. The office is open Tuesday 5-7 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 5-7 PM. If you have a few hours to spare and would like to give back to your community and help your neighbor, please consider the following opportunities:

Coordinator… Client In Home Delivery Program.  Duties include oversight and maintenance of the home delivery program.  Schedule and supervise drivers. Approve clients for home delivery and maintain records. Home deliveries take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Total time for the month is approximately 7-8 hours. Training will be provided. For more information please contact: PACH at 978-925-9770

Drivers ...  Client In Home Delivery Program.  Drivers needed for in home delivery program two Thursdays per month. (2nd and 4th) Deliver and empty food bags to 3-4 client homes. Pickup and deliver from the PACH office.  Total time for month is approximately 4-5 hours. We are looking for one regularly scheduled driver and two substitutes. Instruction will be provided. Food Drive Oversight Coordinator… Track scheduled food drives. Research potential food drive possibilities. Serve as a contact person for community food drive leaders. Assist in scheduling pick up and drop off of donated items.  Total time for the month is dependent on schedule but should not exceed 3-4. Instruction will be provided.  MEAT MOVER. We need a strong individual to work one Tuesday morning per week to move frozen meat from the basement walk-in freezer to the first floor freezers via lift.  Approximate time per week 1-2 hours. Instruction will be provided. For more information please contact PACH at 978-925-9970

The Town of Pepperell invites sealed bids for the Peter Fitzpatrick Façade Repair Project at The Fitzpatrick Collaborative located at 45 Main Street Pepperell, Massachusetts.

Sealed bids must be submitted to the Town of Pepperell, Town Administrator’s office, in an envelope clearly labeled Peter Fitzpatrick Façade Repair Project Bid. Bids are due by Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1 PM.

A public bid opening will be held at the Town of Pepperell Town Hall, Conference Room A on Thursday, April 16, 2026 immediately after the submission deadline.
